Behind the scenes at Coolings garden centre – April 2025

We spent a lovely, sunny and warm afternoon at Coolings hearing the inside story of one of our favourite garden centres.  Ian was a friendly and informative guide introducing us to his colleagues as we toured the glass houses and learned how the business developed into the business it is today.  We all found the tour fascinating, watching as seedlings were pricked out and planted by machine with incredible precision and hearing about the challenges presented by unpredictable weather. We all went home inspired to plant better, thinking more about the compost we use and even how to make the most of space in a greenhouse!

” Fab trip to Coolings today!”

“All thanks for arranging a most lovely day out and to those who went for great companionship.”

“The planting and reporting process was fascinating, it was a splendid day out.  I think we were all inspired by what we saw today!”
