A visit to Bexley Brewery – April 2025

As a contrast to our annual vineyard pilgrimage, a group of us journeyed to Bexley Brewery to learn more about brewing and to sample some beers.   Despite the inauspicious surroundings (industrial estate in Erith), we had an excellent time in the company of our fine hosts, Cliff and Jane, who run the brewery.   We had a potted history of English brewing, as well as a run through of the method, equipment and ingredients required in the brewing process (crunching and sniffing barley and hops along the way).  And of course, we were treated to a generous tasting of several fine ales to round off our trip. We rolled back into sunny Blackheath station at the end of our afternoon in very fine form!
