Summer in the City – A Guided Walk with Jenny and Elaine

Jenny and Elaine took us on a thoroughly enjoyable walk through the City of London on a perfect summer’s evening for walking.  Starting at St Paul’s Cathedral and the statue of Queen Anne, our stops included Paternoster Square and Temple Bar, Cutlers’ Hall, Old Bailey, St Sepulchre’s, the lovely gardens of Christchurch Greyfriars, Postman’s Park, the old Roman city walls and the Guildhall.  We met new people such as John Heminge and Henry Condell in the former churchyard of St Mary of Aldermanbury, the heroes of Postman’s Park and a passing group of Wax Chandlers in their finery, as well as learning so much about the City on our doorstep.
