Return visit to the Migration Museum – June 2024

The Migration Museum in Lewisham shopping centre invited us back to see their latest exhibition called ‘Heart of the Nation – Migration and the making of the NHS’.

About a dozen of us went to see the exhibition which tells the personal stories of people who came from around the world to work in the NHS.  We enjoyed reading the accounts of people who came here to build the NHS, some back in the early 1950s and some much more recently.  It certainly brought back memories for the nurses in our group!

‘Some very well-told and absorbing stories’

‘Enjoyed it, very interesting’

‘A most interesting afternoon, took me back to when nurses dressed as nurses and cared for the sick’
