April meeting – When the Germans Came – Duncan Barrett

Over 40 of us logged in on Thursday 30th April for our first Zoom speaker meeting, and it was fabulous to see so many familiar faces. Well done everyone for mastering Zoom.He says he has copies of the new book plus all his previous ones if people would like them.

Duncan Barrett talked to us about the experiences of Channel Islanders during WW2, under the Nazi occupation. Duncan had spent three months on the Channel Islands gathering material for his book and his passion really shines through alongside his evocative images of this period. Great that so many of us had questions using the Chat function for Duncan – and didn’t he deal with them well? A talented speaker.

Duncan has copies of the new book plus all his previous ones if people would like them. Duncan’s email in case you missed it at the meeting is:

Don’t forget, BBC 2 is showing The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on Saturday 2nd May at 8.30pm. Worth a watch.
