Attending the NFWI Annual Meeting – June 2024

Caroline Powell attended the Annual Meeting of the National Federation of WI at the Royal Albert Hall in June on behalf of Lee Green WI and three other WIs.  Although it might sound a bit of a dusty affair, she had a great day!

“Great speakers without exception on the topic of domestic abuse and violence against women.  Mel B was both moving and entertaining when interviewed by Victoria Derbyshire about her experiences.  A bit of a personal highlight for me was speaker Timothy Watson who played Rob Titchenor in The Archers – how I loved to hate him during his abusive relationship with Helen Archer!  The Dental Health Matters resolution was carried 4578 votes for and 214 against. But the best moment of the day was seeing our darts team appear on the big screens!”
