Well, what a night to remember! Lee Green WI was visited by Miss Cherry Bombe (also known as Lindsey Barrell), all the way from Chelmsford in Essex. Lindsey Barrell aka Miss Cherry Bombe came to share her very entertaining story about how she set out to find new friends and after a number of false starts she found her niche in Burlesque and the WI. She has been sharing the joy with others ever since. She has two burlesque troops that she trains and dances with and is President of her local WI. In her spare time she travels the country to other WIs telling her story and teaching them to shimmy.
We finished our evening learning to shimmy, grind, bump and wiggling like they do in tales of the unexpected. It was great fun and some members laughed till they cried. It is a night we will talk about for a long time to come.
Her wise advice included ‘don’t go down if you can’t get back up again’ and ‘put your hand up for things, you’ll enjoy it!’
