In May, we were invited by Catford WI to take part in a South East London darts tournament. We scrambled together a team of spirited enthusiasts (lured in partly by the promise of a subsidised bar at CWI’s hall) and a keen travelling supporter, and headed off on the 202 bus for a great night’s entertainment. Catford were excellent hosts, and as well as three match boards, they laid on a splendid spread. We won one match and lost the other two but had a wonderful evening meeting other local WIs and definitely getting a taste for arrows (and we even made it into June edition of WI Life Magazine!).
