On Saturday May 12, a group of 27 Lee Green WI members enjoyed a trip to The Courtauld Gallery in London’s Somerset House. We were joined by tour guide Hilary Gaster (who we met at the Dulwich trip in January) who gave us a tour of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist galleries, including this painting by Paul Cezanne. The tour was as much about the life and the times of the artists and their models as it was about painterly technique. We are hoping to arrange another similar tour later in the year of the European Galleries at Victoria and Albert Museum. Watch this space!
