INVITATION TO VIRTUAL RESOLUTION EVENT 25 APRIL

As we get closer to the Annual Meeting in June, every WI is encouraged to consider how they wish their delegate to vote at the Annual Meeting. This year, in addition to the local and regional resolutions events organised by WIs and federations, the NFWI is hosting a virtual resolution event.

The event will take place on Monday 25 April at 7pm, via Zoom, and will be a great opportunity for members to come together and learn more about this year’s resolution topic ahead of deciding how their Annual Meeting delegate should vote. The event will not consider arguments for and against the resolution, but will allow members to find out more about the issues.

Members will hear from Dr Hannah Belcher, researcher at King’s College. Hannah has lectured in Psychology and mental health since 2016, for both the Open University and Anglia Ruskin University. Her focus includes the often late and missed diagnosis of autistic women.

The event will be chaired by Nicky Amos, NFWI Chair of Public Affairs, and there will be an opportunity for members to ask questions at the end.

Members who wish to attend can register their interest by email to pa@nfwi.org.uk. The meeting will have limited capacity, so spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Attendees will then receive joining instructions closer to the date.

A recording of the meeting will be available to view afterwards.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with the Public Affairs Department via email (pa@nfwi.org.uk) or phone (020 7371 9300 ext. 2002).

To add to the air of pomp and circumstance the Festival Theatre would like to throw down the gauntlet and invite the audience to celebrate along with the festival by bringing a Jubilee Celebration Picnic fit for our Queen! The Hever Festival audience are particularly good at picnics. We regularly see tables (with cloths) groaning (just slightly) under the weight of a handsome three (or four) course picnic. The owners sit on cushioned chairs their meals lit by candles and of course, the stars.

To take part audience members will need to bring their most delicious looking picnic to The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration (First Night) of the Hever Festival Proms! on Sat 4 June. The lucky winners will receive complimentary tickets to an event later in the season. There will be a very special (royal) guest to judge…

It promises to be a very special occasion and a great opportunity to celebrate with family and friends.
