Christmas gifts for refugees and asylum seekers

CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR REFUGEES& ASYLUM SEEKERS

This Christmas we’re working with our partners AFRIL (Action for Refugees in Lewisham) to provide Christmas gifts to the adults who use our foodbank. We need to provide 42 gifts in total – for 6 men, and 36 women. If you’d like to get involved, each gift should:
  • Contain three items e.g. shower gel, foodie treats, cosy socks
  • Cost around £10
  • Be wrapped
  • Indicate if it’s for a man or a woman
  • Include a note of any allergens e.g. contains nuts / dairy
 You may also wish to include a Christmas care with a non-religious greeting. If you’d like to take part please add your name to the list in church, or sign up online by clicking HERE. GIFTS SHOULD BE RETURNED TO CHURCH OR THE VICARAGE, 47 HANDEN RD BY THURSDAY 16th DECEMBER

SANTA’S HELPERS NEEDED!!!
This Christmas we’re going to need LOTS of help to make our services a success – especially the outdoor Lighting the Lamps on Christmas Eve. We need help with the tasks below. If you or your family are able to lend a hand, please speak to Bridget– Decorating the Christmas tree on Saturday 18th December– Setting up for Lighting the Lamps on Thursday 23rd December (hanging lights, climbing ladders etc.)– Welcomers at Lighting the Lamps (for both the 5pm & 6pm services)– Serving drinks between the two Lighting the Lamps services– Lighting candles during Lighting the Lamps– Creative tasks – cutting, folding, painting etc!And other things that Bridget will remember in the middle of the night and panic about!!!
