On 8 July WI Committee members were watching the weather like hawks … after the heatwave of June, rain was promised for our picnic in the park … and indeed for much of the morning we had enjoyed some long overdue rain. Could our picnic go ahead or would rain stop play? As tension mounted, the forecast changed pretty much at the last moment, so off we went to Manor House Gardens with food, wine, waterproofs, chairs, blankets and boules! We had a lovely relaxing afternoon chatting, laughing, sharing food and celebrating the coronation ,,, and playing boules! Well done Mary – definitely our boules champion of the day!
