Manor House Gardens Festival – June 2025

Another great day at the Manor House Gardens Festival this year! On a very warm and sunny afternoon, this wonderful community event was well attended, and in spite of the heat a lot of people bought and ate cake!

The day started rather challengingly when our trusted gazebo, that hadn’t been used for a couple of years, was found to be missing one of the linking parts for the structure. But with a wire coat hanger and some gaffer tape and a couple of tall men, we were able to erect it sufficiently well enough for us to have some cover and much needed shade. With Janice’s smart new bunting and lots of willing and smiling helpers and a lot of cool drinks we had a great day, with a note to ourselves that we need to upgrade our Gazebo next year!

As you can see from the photos, helping on the stall is great fun and a good opportunity to meet other members and we are able to raise funds to help with the cost of our activities and meetings. Amazingly, there was an almost perfect match between the number of cakes we had and the sales we made – the boy scouts did a great job of finishing off the last cookies!

A big thank you to all of those who baked, served and ate! And a special thank you to Janice for our new bunting, displayed on the stall for the first time!
