Qi gong with Drew Sinclair – Our January 2024 meeting

What a great start to our new WI year as Drew introduced us to qi gong, gently breathing, stretching and balancing our way to perfect calm!  A wonderful way to start or end the day, to de-stress and take time for ourselves.  We also learned that:
  • Qi means ‘Life Force’ and Gong means ‘to cultivate or build’.
  • Qi gong can improve balance control, fitness, and flexibility, sleep quality and an enhanced immune system.
  • Qi gong appears to reduce pain and the symptoms of depression and helps focus.
  • This movement form is an ancient Chinese tradition that has evolved over the centuries.
  • It is safe for people of all ages, as it does not put too much stress on the muscles and joints.

Drew recommends checking out YouTube for videos of qi gong if you need a reminder of the moves. A big thank you to our refreshments team!
