For our AGM in May we invited Amarachi Clark from Lucocoa to come and tell us all about her company (the only ‘bean to bar’ chocolate maker in London). After graduating with a degree in computer science and a career in charity work (including Comic Relief), Ama then taught herself how to make chocolate in her two bedroomed flat – and she hasn’t looked back since. She told us about the farmers who supply her beans and some of the shocking practices in the chocolate industry; how the Lucocoa chocolate is made and what goes into it; and of course, she brought samples of her delicious wares, which converted even the most diehard Caramac fans to the fabulous 73% cocoa Belize and Guatemala dark chocolate – delicious!!

And if you missed the meeting Amarachi’s presentation can be viewed here.
Our AGM business was conducted swiftly – our current Committee members are happy to continue and Angie Muirhead gave a really nice vote of thanks to Alison and Caroline, our continuing Co-Presidents. All rounded off with a toast of sherry (sweet or dry), some leftover chocolate and a rousing rendition of Jerusalem!
