We are looking to book Sunday lunch at The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton. The meals are cooked and served by the prisoners in training who are working towards gaining their City & Guilds NVQs in Food & Beverage Service, Professional Cookery and Food Hygiene.
The restaurant is situated at Brixton Prison in the old governor’s house which dates back to 1819. The air-conditioned restaurant allows prisoners to learn, engage with the public and take their first steps towards a new life. Prisoners at HMP Frankland made all the leather upholstery and boardroom tables in the restaurant. The three-course meal currently costs £35 plus 12.5% discretionary charge – non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails are available at an additional cost. You can check the menu out by clicking this link: Brixton – The Clink Charity
In 2022, The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton was awarded a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award, placing the restaurant in the top 10% worldwide.
There is no parking at the prison so we would travel by public transport. Full names and date of birth are required in advance of the visit and on the day you would need to take photo ID (Driving Licence or passport).
If you are interested in joining us for lunch please let Jane Verity know 07715 102429 or sign the list at the meeting on Thursday.
