Please note change of date to 13 May.
This month’s speaker is Rachel Levitas who will be giving us a brief overview of influential women artists in modern history; their circumstances, their subjects and their impact. Rachel studied Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art, Advanced Printmaking at Central St Martins and Postgraduate Painting at the Royal Academy Schools where she was awarded the Turner Gold Medal for Painting. In 2010 Rachel was awarded first prize at the prestigious Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize for her painting Urban Fox III.
Please note the slightly earlier start of 7.30pm to allow time for AGM reports – from Secretary Kay, Treasurer Fugen and brief update from presidents Caroline & Alison. We did not receive any requests from members interested in joining the committee so there will be no need to hold elections for posts. However, if you do fancy joining the team, please don’t wait for the annual elections to express an interest – we would be very happy to provide further details of what being on the committee involves and we are always looking for fresh ideas/inspiration/people to join us!! Please do email if you would like to know more ().
