The library at Manor House is marking the 250th anniversary of the building of the Manor House with a series of events to raise much needed funding. The library is dependant on volunteers to keep its doors open and the WI will be supporting the library’s open day with a cake sale. Other events planned include a gardening weekend to clear rubbish, cut back overgrown shrubs and planting, a poetry competition for young people and a talk and reading by Richard Atkinson on his book Mr Atkinson’s Punch which focuses on the period his ancestors leased the Manor House from the Baring family.
Please get in touch with Caroline Powell at if you can help by making cakes for the open day or by filling a rota slot on the day. If you would like to take part or help with the library’s other planned events please contact or or call the library itself on 0208 463 0420 – better still, why not pop in borrow a book, and have a chat about how you can help!
