This month’s meeting is ‘A Little Cup of History: From Tea to CreativiTEA – An interactive workshop’ with George Dunkerton (https://www.alittlecup.com/about) We will look at a selection of 4 tea blends, their stories and benefits, to think about how the flavours compare and contrast and what really goes into making a complex blend. These blends are mostly herbal, but with a couple of caffeinated options too. We will focus on blends that are great as iced teas and mocktails – and how these can become cocktails after dry January!
The four teas we will be drinking are
1) Coco-Chilli-Mint ( which can also be used in a cocktail to make a Mint-tini!)
2) Desert Island ( can also be used in a mulled wine)
3) Yes Maté ( can also be used in a hot toddy)
4) Lemon Grey ( can also be used in G&T)All WI members will receive samples of the above teas, delivered to doorsteps before Thursday by the committee elves. Non-members might like to buy their own so they can join in with the sampling and tasting at the meeting.
On Thursday evening, please make sure you have a kettle to hand (in a safe location!), 4 cups, a teaspoon and a little cold water for cooling hot tea.RESOLUTIONS: At our meeting on Thursday, we will also be voting for the 2022 national WI campaign – the five resolution options are:
1. Fit for purpose: fit for girls
2. Appropriate sentencing of non-violent women offenders
3. Equality in law for the menopause
4. Women & Girls with ASD and ADHD
5. Tackling digital exclusion
Full details of all the resolutions are on pp.25-27 of the Nov/Dec edition of WI Life magazine so please do read through this information before the meeting to decide what you would like to vote for. All members will be able to cast their vote at the meeting.FEBRUARY MEETING: As you know, next month’s meeting will be a very special one for Lee Green WI as it is our 10th birthday! We are so sorry that we will not be getting together in person for this mighty landmark but we are planning several other celebrations throughout 2022 and will let you know all the details at our birthday party meeting on 10th February.FOODBANK: Although we are not meeting in person this month, if you would like to make a donation to our local foodbank you can leave non-perishable foodstuffs at the Good Shepherd vicarage on Handen Road, SE12.
