Victoria and Albert Museum Trip – European Galleries

Date: November 3, 2018

Time: 11am and 1pm (TBC)

Location: Victoria and Albert Museum

Guided tour of European Galleries of V & A with Hilary Gaster. 2 groups of 15 people. Cost £6 per person for tour (entrance to V & A is free).

The tour is through the ‘new’ European Galleries which opened in February 2016, after four years creative effort.  They begin  with magnificent Catholic Baroque, look at the Protestant Netherlands, then lighter Rococo styles and finally Neo-Classicism.  On the way we look at Cabinets of Curiosities and the rise of the great ceramic factories of Meissen and Sevres. Please wear comfortable shoes as we cover a lot of ground! Sign up at September and October meetings. See link for more details.

Sarah Corbett is the founder of Craftivist Collective, a social enterprise which uses the technique of craftivism – combining craft and activism[1] – to engage people in social justice issues “in a quiet, non-confrontational manner involving pretty, handcrafted gestures of defiance.”[2]

She wrote A Little Book of Craftivism which was published in 2013,[3][4] and How To Be A Craftivist, published in 2017.
